shelfari I recently came across Shelfari which allows me to organize and keep track of my book library.  So far I am extremely pleased with the service.  I wanted to display the books I read on my blog for others to see and fortunately Shelfari provides a couple of options (JavaScript or Flash).  I went with the Flash version for the better look and functionality.  Adding it to my blog was pretty easy in that I just needed to add the embedded syntax into my page and it would render on the fly. 

Not wanting to be satisfied with manually editing my blog pages I decided to write a BlogEngine Widget that would let me make configuration changes to the Flash Widget from within BlogEngine.  The only catch was that I didn’t know how to build a Widget.

Boy did it turn out to be easy!  Special kudos goes out to the BlogEngine team for making the Widget creation process so easy.  In any case I completed the widget and it seems to work most excellently.  If you have given Shelfari a try, like it, and want to display your book libraries on your blog then this Widget is for you…
