Google Tracker Extension

Here is a quick and dirty extension that lets you insert the Google Tracker information for Analytics. Just copy this into your ~/app_code/extensions folder and then edit the tracker number in the extension management console.

UPDATE (Aug 10th) : I have updated the code to place the Google script at the bottom of the page instead of the header. Please download the latest version.

@Chris,

I set it up last night and it is not working for me; "The Google Analytics tracking code has not been detected on your website's home page."

Any suggestions?

I double checked the syntax and it seems that I had an extra <script></script> in the original release. I have updated the code and changed the version to 1.1. Please make sure you are running the correct version.

I was a beginner, I BlogEngine is not very familiar with it.
I see you, this function is very good, also noted that the usefulness of the Extension.
Originally, I was on the page manual insert code, too much trouble.

In China, few people use BlogEngine, but with asp.net There are still many people, I was one of them
Since the Chinese learning BlogEngine little information, so it limits its development.
My English is not very good, I visited your site and view the information in English, sometimes with the translation tool google!

BTW... I think you are having the same problem that we experienced with BlogEngine. And that is when a comment is submitted it gets stuck on the " Saving the comment...". I actually edited the code in the comments control to fix this. I forget what the problem is. I think it was a path problem inside the control.

Email me if you want more information I can look it up in our source control.

Also your live preview is not working. Probably the same issue.

I don't quite see the need for this... shouldn't the analytic code-bit just go into the "Tracking Script" section on the settings page? That seems to work fine for my site. Am I missing smthng?

The only reason I wrote this is so that people who would rather not manually edit the script to add their google tracking number. With this extension the user can simply go into the extensions panel and edit the number without any fuss. Whatever works for you...
