Allow my kids to eat at McDonalds? No way...

34115127 I have always had a problem with McDonalds and their predatory practices with marketing to children.  It bugs me that their primary customer target is kids and yet their food is extremely unhealthy.  Things like Happy Meals, playgrounds, and such seem to drive kids to their restaurants in droves.  It doesn't help when the parents feel compelled to take their kids to McDonalds or suffer the loud cries that saying "no" produce.

A recent article on NewsTarget tells how McDonalds may have found yet another way to influence parents to take their kids to McDonalds.

McDonald's paid the $1,700 tab for Seminole County, Florida's report card jackets in exchange for a coupon, featuring Ronald McDonald, on the card's cover. With good grades and attendance, the coupon can be redeemed for a free Happy Meal (source: OrlandoSentinel)

The coupons put parents in a tough spot; a mother in the Seminole school district resented 'being the bad guy' that had to deny her daughter the meal.

In our family we don't even say the word McDonald.  And for those playgrounds, who knows that germs can be found in those things.  What do you think?  Am I being unreasonable?
