Snap Links Extension for BlogEngine.net

by Chris 12/1/2007 5:10:00 PM

Inspired by the cool features found with Snap (www.snap.com) and it's ability to provide a popup window to links and text I decided to leverage all the excellent work by CK's Quick Links and modify it to support different SNAP markups.  If you don't know what Snap is than just look at the links on my site and you should see the Snap Shot Icon next to all external links.

This extension will change Snap markup to Snap links.  If you were to type this in a post:

Can you believe the [ sStock]msft[ /sStock]Microsoft stock price!
Maybe we should all read Bill Gates book [ sAmazon]0446675962[ /sAmazon]Business @ The Speed of Thought...

You would see a Snap Shot Icon next to the word 'Microsoft' and 'Business', like this:

Can you believe the Microsoft stock price!
Maybe we should all read Bill Gates book Business @ The Speed of Thought...

So if you are interested in this little gem then feel free to download it!

@Chris - Great Extension! I put together another type of SnapShot extension for BlogEngine.NET that adds previews for all external links. You can find it out:

BTW. I'm the coordinator for the BlogEngine.NET Extension Pack up on CodePlex. I would like to include this extension as part of the pack. If that's fine with you, just upload it as a "patch" to the CodePlex site.
