Downtime last night...

winter_coldMy blog experienced some down time between 9:45pm and 8:00am this morning as San Diego Gas and Electric were attempting to fix a problem with their power lines.  Hosting your own server has some drawbacks for sure, such as power outages, but for me the upside is that I have complete control of the servers without having to pay for a dedicated server hosting plan which can cost a lot of money.

While I'm not so sure anyone really missed my blog during that time I can say my family sure missed the electricity...  It turns out that last night was pretty cold (in San Diego terms) and the heater didn't run.  So about half way through the night we were freezing and stacking on the blankets!

In any case it seems that SDG&E has everything sorted out and our power is back up and running.
