I ran across this gem and thought I should spread the word. Sign up with the County of San Diego Emergency Services to have your cell phone called in the event of an emergency!

After registering you get this nice little message that I thought was humorous.

CAUTION: WHILE THE COUNTY'S MASS NOTIFICATION SYSTEM IS CONSIDERED EFFECTIVE AND EFFICIENT, YOU SHOULD NOT WAIT FOR OR RELY EXCUSIVELY ON A MASS NOTIFICATION SYSTEM CALL FOR EVACUATION DIRECTIVES IF YOU THINK YOU ARE IN DANGER. IF YOU THINK YOU ARE IN DANGER, YOU SHOULD EVACUATE IMMEDIATELY. IF YOU ARE DIRECTED TO EVACUATE BY EMERGENCY PERSONNEL, YOU SHOULD FOLLOW THEIR DIRECTION.

I guess they are just covering their buts in case you don't get that call before your house burns down.
