Active Directory Replication Diagnostics

Today my customer asked me to figure out what’s hanging up their Active Directory Application Mode replication. Replication had lapsed over 60 days and the replication had shut down. Following some helpful links I was able to identify what the replication status is, identify outstanding replication events, and even look into the replication task data.

Insecure login at Tumblr, really?

You see it all the time… A cool new website that offers a great set of features. What is usually missed in this process is the check for a secure login screen. A perfect example is the latest social networking site Tumblr. Hopefully my account credentials won’t be hacked before Tumblr can get a secure login page available…

Over the weekend my family stayed at the Loews in Coronado Bay. For lunch we headed over to the hotel restaurant to get a bite to eat. While sitting at the table we were looking over the children’s menu when I noticed some questions that I beleive should not ever be answered by your children.

VBScript in Visual Studio

Over the years I have observed how Microsoft’s Visual Studio product kept reducing support for VBScript. The one complaint I have had the hardest time accepting was the inability to launch a VBScript from within the IDE. Turns out that feature has been there all along, I just never knew how to configure it properly.
