It seems that Apple may have opened up a can of worms with their lawsuit against Psystar. Now Psystar will do what it must to protect its business by countersuing Apple based on “restraint of trade, unfair competition, and other violations of antitrust law”.
I think it’s about time that someone forces Apple’s hand on their tying of the Operating System to their hardware. Since there is no technical reason why the Mac OS X can’t run on other hardware I can’t imagine how Apple can expect to keep users from using compatible hardware.
I will be keeping a keen eye on the outcome of this suit. What do you think? Should Apple be allowed to prevent users from installing OS X on non-Apple hardware?
