I stumbled across GeoURL and thought it seemed very interesting. From the GeoURL website:
GeoURL is a location-to-URL reverse directory. This will allow you to find URLs by their proximity to a given location. Find your neighbor's blog, perhaps, or the web page of the restaurants near you. GeoURL is listing 2,245,342 sites.
Since I have already populated my longitude and latitude values in BlogEngine it seemed only natural to create an extension that would enable the GeoURL meta tags on my site.
Really a simple extension I just create two conforming meta tags that include BlogEngine information that already exists. The results of the extension look like the following:
After adding the extension to your site be sure to ping GeoURL to get added to their database.
If successful you will see the following
Next you can add a tag to your blog so that people can see who your neighbors are
